Ajax Feyenoord

Ajax's dismal season reaches new lows with humiliating 6-0 defeat to Feyenoord

Minteh and Paixao score doubles as Feyenoord inflict Ajax's biggest loss in nearly a century

De Telegraaf reports that Ajax's season hit a new low on Sunday as they were crushed 6-0 by archrivals Feyenoord in Rotterdam.

Yankuba Minteh and Igor Paixao both scored twice for Feyenoord, while Jahanbakhsh and Gimenez added the other goals. The defeat is Ajax's biggest since a 9-4 loss to Feyenoord in 1964.

The result leaves Ajax in fourth place in the Eredivisie table, 18 points behind leaders Feyenoord. Ajax's hopes of winning the title are now all but over, and they could even miss out on a place in next season's Champions League.

The defeat is the latest in a series of disappointing results for Ajax. The Amsterdam club has now lost four of their last five matches in all competitions.

The pressure is now mounting on Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder. The Dutchman has been criticized for his team's poor form, and he could be sacked if results do not improve soon.

Ajax's next match is at home to FC Twente on Wednesday. They will then face PSV Eindhoven in the KNVB Cup final on April 30.
