Gary Lineker is one of the most iconic footballers of his generation. A prolific striker for Leicester City, Everton, Barcelona, and Tottenham Hotspur, he won the Golden Boot at the 1986 World Cup and was named PFA Player of the Year in 1986 and 1992.

Lineker began his career with Leicester City, where he made his debut in 1978. He quickly established himself as a goalscorer, and in 1985 he helped Leicester win the Second Division title. Lineker's impressive performances for Leicester earned him a move to Everton in 1985. He spent three seasons with the Toffees, scoring 80 goals in 138 appearances. In 1988, Lineker moved to Barcelona, where he spent two years. He won the Copa del Rey with Barcelona in 1989, and he was the club's top scorer in both of his seasons there.

In 1990, Lineker returned to England to join Tottenham Hotspur. He spent six seasons with Spurs, scoring 98 goals in 237 appearances. Lineker helped Tottenham win the FA Cup in 1991, and he was named PFA Player of the Year in 1992. Lineker retired from playing in 1994, and he has since worked as a television commentator and presenter.
