Early Life and Education
WEB Thompson was born in Bolton, Mississippi on January 28, 1948, to Will Thompson, an auto mechanic, and Annie Lauris Thompson, a teacher. He attended Hinds County public schools before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Tougaloo College in 1968. Thompson later obtained a Master of Science degree from Jackson State University in 1972.
Political Career
WEB Thompson is a member of the Democratic Party and is currently running for re-election to the US House of Representatives, representing Mississippi's 2nd Congressional District. Thompson has served in this role since 2007, working on committees related to energy and commerce, agriculture, veterans' affairs, and space exploration.
Thompson's platform focuses on issues such as providing affordable healthcare, supporting education and infrastructure, and promoting economic development in Mississippi. He has also advocated for civil rights, environmental protection, and responsible gun ownership.
