Lawrence Bishnoi was born on February 12, 1992, in Abohar, Fazilka district, Punjab. His father, Lakhwinder Singh Bishnoi, was a farmer, and his mother, Kewal Kaur, was a teacher. Lawrence holds a degree in physical education from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh College in Abohar.

Involvement in Gangster Activities

Lawrence's involvement in gangsterism began in 2010 when he joined the Students' Organization of Punjab (SOPU). SOPU, a student union with a violent reputation, was allegedly involved in extortion, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. Lawrence quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a prominent figure within the organization.

In 2015, Lawrence went into hiding after being accused of murdering a rival gang member. He fled to Rajasthan, where he allegedly formed an alliance with the notorious gangster Sampat Nehra.

The Bishnoi Gang: Power and Reach

The Bishnoi gang, led by Lawrence Bishnoi, has emerged as one of the most powerful and influential criminal syndicates in India. The gang's activities extend beyond Punjab, with a presence in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and other states. The gang is primarily involved in drug trafficking, extortion, contract killing, and land grabbing.

Controversies and Legal Troubles

Lawrence Bishnoi has been linked to several high-profile crimes, including the murder of Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022. He has also been accused of involvement in the murder of Bollywood producer Subhash Kapoor and the killing of a police officer in Rajasthan.

Lawrence has been arrested multiple times by the police and has spent time in jail. However, he continues to operate his criminal empire from within prison.

Current Status and Investigations

As of June 2023, Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in the Tihar Jail in Delhi. He faces several charges, including murder, extortion, and organized crime. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently investigating the Bishnoi gang's links to terrorist organizations.
